Have taken my parents to eat here during their visit and I have eaten here a few times on my own. Week days you can get a seat at the bar no problem. Even on a Friday myself and and a group of friends got a table quick. If you plan on eating with a group and they have a live band playing I would suggest ear plugs for the group so you can carry on a conversation while you eat. Go fish and chips :)

Delicious!! Amazing service!! Four of us ordered 3 of the traditional plates and shared family style. Definitely try the fish and chips (get extra sauce) and Mac and cheese!!

One of my favorite places in the springs! I had the Shepherds Pie and it was fantastic. The Pot Pie is delicious too. They serve traditional Irish and American food. They have a great selection of Irsh and Scotish brews and liquor as well as popular favorites. The atmosphere is great! There are private booths, which are pretty cool. There is mostly open seating. They have cover bands on the weekend and also a traditional celtic group that plays on Sunday afternoons. Thursday night they have a guy who sings Irish folk songs. Hit up their event calendar on their website for details on the bands. They also have a running club, if you're interested. This place can get really busy Thursday through Saturday. They also have a second floor that can be reserved for parties. Staff is friendly. Anytime someone comes to visit me I take them to Jack Quinn's!

Came in with my friends on memorial day in the evening. Turned out we were just in time for trivia. None of us were very confident about our trivia knowledge, but it was fun to try! For dinner we all ordered something and shared. I had the beef boxty, which is a type of Irish potato crepe filled with savory meat or veggies. I had beef. It was very tender and flavorful. The menu said it was marinated in Guinness. Another friend had the large fish and chips. Crunchy batter, fries were good and I liked the sauce they were served with. Lastly we tried the Shepard's pie. Very bland and mushy. Not a fan. I know food from the UK is not known for being very good, but everything else we ate was tasty :( Overall we had a nice time, service was fast and friendly. I'd go back for fish and chips. I liked their fries better than Golden Bee

We went here because of all of the good reviews, but it was super disappointing. First off they sat us upstairs and told us it would be better than waiting to sit downstairs, which was not true at all. Upstairs was freezing and the atmosphere was totally different than downstairs. It was just a bar with benches and tables. The food wasn't good either. The reuben sandwich was so greasy and such a letdown. The fish and chips was also bad. They must have taken the fish straight from the fryer and put in on the plate since there was a huge pool of oil under it. It was inedible and we had to press it with all of our napkins to get some of the oil out of it. On the way back to Denver the 3 of us were all feeling pretty sick. We won't be going back and I am so surprised that this place gets so many good reviews as it's the worst Irish food I've ever had.

Love this place! One of my favorite hang outs! Love the chocolate stout! Love the Irish ambiance! Love the Kabobs (sausage/ pretzels) I had the steak salad it was delicious. Bartenders and servers are always pleasant! Jack Quinns fun run is a great idea as well!

This is one of the best places I've visited for lunch. I had the Reuben sandwich and fries. I have never ate a better Reuben (except from my own kitchen). It came out just as I had asked (I requested the tomato and lettuce on the side). The service is friendly but we had to wait a long time to be checked on for refills and the bill - which is why I only gave 4 stars. I love the private booths inside but also feel this could be why we were forgotten about. We had to get up a few times during our visit. Once to get a drink and again to get a refill and ultimately the check. We went in on a weekday for lunch around 1:30 pm and the place was not busy so I don't understand the lack of service.

I usually go to Quinn's with a large group. They are spot on with their drink recommendations and the food is pretty good. The lighting is weird and it's very loud, so that's why I gave it 4 stars. Priced fairly, great staff, and great selection.

Came to this pub for a work related function. We were on the upper floor so this is the part I am reviewing. The decor was a bit strange. The bar is very ornate, with carvings or nude women, heavy dark woods and colorful stained glass fixtures while the rest of the room is so simple and sparsely decorated that it looks out of place. There are many photos on the walls, but no dark wood or carvings to give it that 'old pub' feel like one finds common in Irish pubs. The whole atmosphere was somewhat sterile. The bartender was really nice and friendly. The food was pretty good. I had the grilled vegetables on focaccia sandwich (eggplant, zucchini, onions and peppers) I found the pickles to be a very odd note in there. My DH had the Angus burgers with chips. The burger was nice and juicy and the fries were coated with a flavorful savory seasoning. We also ordered the spinach artichoke dip. I was pleasantly surprise not to find it over garlicky, as it often happens with this dish. It came accompanied by mixed corn tortilla chips, and SURPRISE, some crudites. I really did appreciate the raw veggies and the dip was a nice complement to them. Overall we did enjoy the food but I wish the decor was a little more thought out.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, had a few drinks and dinner before a concert. The Leprechaun Lemonade was delish! I really liked the booths, very private and cozy. Will definitely go again!

Love Jack's Quinn's! Went there on a Saturday night. Live Irish music. Good Irish beers on tap - Smithwick's on tap is 10x better than from a bottle. We had the Pub duo and the Guinness beef boxty to eat. The duo was meh... But the boxty was awesome! I'm gonna get that everytime I go to JQ's.

  • Paul A.

Any pub with a fireplace is awesome. They have live music several days a week. The place is big. Request one of the booths that is partitioned off if you want privacy.

  • Ashlee B.

So fun and festive! Love the atmosphere! The day we went there was a band playing traditional Irish music! We day in the booths that felt kinda like being in a private train car. We got 3 different appetizers to share for lunch. The cheese and fruit platter, the pub duo, and the corned beef pastry. Can't wait to go back and try an entrée! Oh and awesome Irish beer on tap!

Chill atmosphere; loved the way the booths are set up. The Celtic band was great and prices were reasonable.

Got invited out with friends to go to song night here on a Thursday. We had a blast! The food was great, the atmosphere was lively, and it was recommended to try a "Black Velveteen" and I now have a whole new love of Guinness!

I like Jack Quinn's pretty well. Overall the food is good and they have a well balanced selection of beers. The survey is in and it's official, I'm the one person who doesn't like Guinness. (Or maybe it's just that I'm the only person who will ADMIT I don't like Guinness) I feel like I should have one when eating at Jack's but it tastes so nasty I just can't bring myself to do it. They have entertainment at least three times weekly if not more. The wait staff is always quick, efficient and pleasant. We've had the guy with the super deep "Wolf Man Jack" voice a few times and he is an awesome server! Seems pretty low key on the 2nd floor which is where I always go, being the low key person that I am. I don't have to be worried about taking my kid along to eat. No obnoxious drunks getting into fights. No one is dancing on the tables. All the drunks seem to have it under control. Of course, I've never gone past 9pm so it could be a whole other story later in the evening. The seating is not plush by any means. Don't expect cushy chairs up here. It's all wooden benches and stools. The "Irish Pub" decor is not over done or cheesy. Love the massive wood (I'm curious if it is solid wood) carving behind the bar, pretty cool.

This is quite possibly my favorite place in downtown Colorado Springs. It matches up with the best Irish Pubs I've been to in New York, Chicago and Washington DC. If you love ciders and whiskey, I recommend having a Train Wreck right off the bat. Made with Jameson wiskey and hard cider, it is absolutely wonderful. They have a great selection of beers, whiskeys, ciders and the sort. Very limited wine list, but not really the place for it. Everything I've had here is great. I've had the fish and chips, the shepherds pie, the rib eye, the corned beef and cabbage, and the bangers and mash. The bangers and mash are really outstanding. The sausages are imported from Ireland, and you can tell. The fish and chips are great as well - as you would expect. The corned beef and cabbage are totally authentic. Perfect comfort food. We also tried the new Macaroni and Cheese with cheddar and gouda. Sounded great, but you couldn't really taste the gouda. Was still decent. Great place to knock back a pint, shot, whatever.

  • Mae H.

All around fantastic! The staff are always incredibly friendly and personable. The bar has a great beer selection and the food is absolutely delicious. Prices are good and portions are generous. Even the salads are huge and come with a proper portion of meat. They also have a really great happy hour that includes drinks and appetizers. Live music, trivia night, and Irish sing alongs make for a welcoming and fun environment!

From the moment we walked in for a late lunch, we fell in love with the charm. Each table was enclosed within half panels complete with beautiful stained glass. This is particularly helpful to know if you have family who are hard of hearing. I'm sure in the evening it livens up and becomes louder. However if you go for a late lunch/early dinner you will have no trouble at all. The menu was perfect. In fact, it even held some new Irish food options we had never run across in travels. Our server was quick, courteous, and friendly. The portions were all very filling. I chose the Shepherd's Pie but opted to get it without the bread bowl. I'm glad I did. WIth the bread it would have been far too filling for me. Although someone with a larger appetite will love this option as well as the Bangers and Mash. NOTE: There are several options for the vegetarian in your party as well!

This is a great drinking establishment and I will leave it at that. I have been there about 30 times over a couple of years and most of the main entrees are average. Some of the appetizers are decent, but bar food nonetheless. As for the drinking part, its a classic irish pub. My favorite is the black velveteen. It has everything that you would imagine in an Irish pub. I would give the bar 5 stars and the food 3 stars at best. It does probably have the best atmosphere of bars downtown unless you like techno and drunken bar fights, then you will have to go elsewhere.

Shepherds Pie was hearty and the Guinness cold. The bartender and Hostess gave great service despite it being crazy busy. No complaints!

I really, really like JQ's...and it's funny b/c every time I think about it I feel like it's been forever since I've been in. The atmosphere, staff, bar, food, music...all good. It's one of my favorite downtown CoS establishments. In general downtown leaves lots to be desired but Jack Quinn's isn't one of those places. Definitely a pub and great place to stop in for a pint or a meal and music without feeling like some strange, overrated desperate CoS meat market. Granted there can be a time and a place for that but in general I'd rather grab a brew and not need to outmaneuver random gropers at a 'club'...unless you're hot...then call me, maybe.

Aside from the beer, I've order the Traditional Irish Breakfast which was very good, and the fish & chips which were some of the best I've ever had. Been extremely lucky or maybe it's just the norm here, but all of our servers have been outstanding. Wish I could name them by name, but great service for sure. So what else could you want? Good atmosphere, great service, excellent food!

Great place night life scene if you aren't too big into crowds. Haven't tried their food but we went here one evening and actually had a good time with friends. There was actually room for us to hang out, sit and chill while listening to music. I am sure other nights it is packed but the night we went it wasn't but we still loved the atmosphere!

Great lunch on a dreary Sunday afternoon. Burger, French toast, Reuben and a steak salad. All delicious. Guinness on tap didn't hurt either. Service was good to boot.

I love Jack Quinn. It has great Irish food. Their boxty's, lamb stew, and chicken pot pie are especially good entrees. Their spinach dip and lamb crostinis are excellent appetizers. It has great alcohol. I love scotch, whiskey, and stouts and they have a great assortment of each. They also had Smithwicks, which is usually pretty hard to find. My friends and I love the atmosphere there. We go on Thursday nights for live music. We sing pub tunes at the top of our lungs, pound on the tables, and lift our drinks high and have a great time. Don't worry, we're not being obnoxious because the rest of patrons are doing the same thing.

The food is fine. It is Irish styled pub food. It is generally greasy and heavy, but that's what you expect at a pub. This isn't the type of place you go to when you are on a diet. The service is constantly bad. I completely understand that their majority of sales must come from alcohol sales, but you have to be able to please your restaurant customers too. The service is slow at best. The wait staff will forget anything you ask for. If you need lemon with your fish and chips, don't expect to get them until you are finished eating. We go to Jack Quinns because of the running club, but since the service is so terrible, we have started going to other restaurants in that block instead.

Quintessential Irish pub and one of the most fun places I've ever been to. The food is wonderful and the people that frequent this place become your best friend over a few beers. I had the bangers and mash - very traditional food that was perfect for getting ready to drink a bit. We also had a soft pretzel appetizer that was delish. There are lots of different beers on tap (always a plus) and the staff is really friendly. The best part about this place is the live music and the Irish drinking songs. The band plays and makes jokes and gets everyone really into it. There are books on the table so you can follow along singing every song with the occasional slamming of your beer on the table, which is all part of the music and the fun. I can't wait to go back to Colorado and drink here again!

Went in here on Memorial Day weekend, myself and four other veterans. The manager kicked my buddy because he "appeared" to be drunk. He wasn't drunk, he got run down by a car in Afghanistan and has problems walking because of it. After confronting the manager, some balding, mild aged retard, he told me I was wrong. I will never eat at this restaurant again.

If I were judging this place based on the food, it definitely would have gotten a 3 at best. I ordered the short ribs, which was their menu special. First off, they weren't short ribs--definitely baby back. Secondly, they were a little too charred on the outside, which would have been okay had there been enough sauce, but that wasn't the case. There wasn't the faintest hint of bourbon in the bourbon glaze, to my dissatisfaction. I also tried the salmon a friend got, which was pretty seriously overcooked. Very unimpressive. The service, however, was phenomenal. The hostess and manager worked with me to get a large party of 15 booked on a fairly busy Friday night, with only an hour's notice. Our server was incredible; he was the only one assigned to all 15 of us, but no one's drinks were every empty, the table was cleared promptly, and he was just generally excellent and indefatigable.

We had a group 35 seated in the "upstairs" at Jack's, and this was the second year in a row that they were able to do that. It's a great building, and I would like to know more about the history of it. I ordered the Irish Nachos and a Guinness for starters. The beer was a perfect temp, and the nachos were delicious...crisp browned homemade potato chips topped with corned beef, scallions and cheese. It came with some overly-sweet remoulade that was a toss-out. I had the seafood boxty, and my wife had the Guinness stew boxty. Both were very good. I found the pancake a bit sweet though, and the chef was heavy-handed with the nutmeg. However, the portions were perfect, accompanied by a zucchini and pepper saute. I didn't hear one complaint from anyone about their food, and at $10 I would certainly order that boxty again. Our server looked like a deer in the headlights at first, but with a little effort I got him to loosen up a little and smile. The service overall was very quick and attentive without being intrusive to the point of irritation. There was a live band downstairs, and it was pretty loud, but we couldn't hear it upstairs.

Jack Quinn's has always been a go-to for me. Their food is better than most of the pubs you will find. Ambiance: This place can get loud and busy, so if you are going for a quite dinner, you may want to keep going. However, if you want to have a great time with some friends, this is the place to go! Every Thursday and Friday they have a band come in and play, starting around 7. If you can sit in the back near the band, you are sure to have a GREAT time! The band plays non-traditional and some traditional Irish music and encourages patrons to participate in the outlandish sing alongs. If it is your birthday and you are introverted, look out! If the band hears of your birthday they will invite you to join them on stage and bang on a little drum as they play a song and sing in your honor. This is not an unruly environment, but it is loud and a little chaotic some times, but SO worth it. If you are looking for a quieter more intimate setting, there are private dinning booths in the front of the restaurant as well as an upstair which is a nice area. Food: A mix of basic American pub food and traditional Irish food. The best two things on the menu are the Boxtys and the Irish nachos. The Boxty is a traditional Irish food that is similar in texture and appearance to a crepe. Inside is an assortment of vegetables and meat. I usually get the corned beef Boxty and it is great! Their Boxtys are served with their Merry Rose sauce which is a great creamy sauce that will add just the right amount of sweet to the savory Boxty. The other favorite is the Irish nachos a large portion of homemade chips that are smothered in corned beef, cheese, chives, and sour cream. A great choice if you are not watching your figure on this particular night. Service: The only reason I don't give this place a 5 star rating is because of the service. When you come in the door, if in the evening, you are greeted by a hostess who tries to find you a table. I have been to Quinn's probably 20 times and each time she is there, she is rude. I know she probably deals with alot of rude patrons, but I don't want to be treated poorly by the first person I see, regardless of if the like their job or not. The wait staff is generally pretty busy and lacking in personality. I think the staff take on the persona of bar staff more than they do restaurant staff. If the staff improved their personalities and became more personable, this would be a 5 star rating. Altogether a great downtown option. Pretty busy most of the time, but a great experience!

Live music and plenty of Irish Beers on tap. Service was friendly and quick. The live music was great and was interacite and funny. Table bangin good time. I had the Corned Beef and Cabage and it was very tasty. For some reason, there were a lot of Irish Folks and they all knew the words to the songs. I rarely see that in places like this.

You're typical upscale Irish Pub, with a flare for community organization. They run trivia, bike groups, running clubs, and the like. Definitely not a bar for a smoker though.

Very authentic Irish pub. The bar is imported from Ireland. I just had a Smithwick and my wife had a Mimosa. Both excellent.

I liked this place more than the ladyfriend, but it wasn't a bad joint at all. Perfectly poured Guinness pints (just two, don't worry!) and a fun decor, along with a "traditional" Irish-American menu. The waitress was great, on top of things, friendly, jovial, played along with my terrible jokes, and generally seemed like she was enjoying herself -- which is something servers and patrons alike know is key to making you shift go by quickly, keeping customers entertained, and earning your tip. We split an appetizer of some Guinness cheese soup which was absolutely phenomenal, in fact I've printed an intertubez recipe to try it myself! The lady had a chicken and pasta dish which was actually rather tasty, but interesting. The cheese sauce it appeared to come with was more white wine than cheese, but it didn't disappoint. I had fish and chips, a new favorite of mine (I don't have the best relationship with fish, but if you fry it then usually I'll eat it.) The F&C were mediocre, unfortunately. The batter was soft and uncooked on the inside in some parts, and the fish felt like it wasn't given enough time to drain after it came out of the fryer. The portion size was good, and the fries were quite tasty, but the fish were the greasiest I have had in my entire life. I wasn't completely disappointed, but had I not been so hungry I probably would've been. While I rarely make it to the Springs, especially downtown, I wouldn't hesitate to give it another shot. I am a sucker for Irish pubs, and will always give them a second chance. Not that this one needs a second chance, but I'll gladly stop in for another pint the next time I'm in town.

Standard Irish fare with authentic feel. They got rid of Beamish, so off with 1 star for that foul. Their dipping sauces and chips are addictive. Otherwise, the fish and chips are pretty decent. Their running club is awesome, though!

Best bar in town hands down. The food is great, the staff is great, the live music is great. GREAT GREAT GREAT 1. Traditional Irish pubfare is to die for good....Must try! 2. Traditional Irish live music is phenomenal 3. Tuesday Quinn's run is a must for everyone in the Springs 4. Great selection of whiskey, scotch, and beer. *Don't order a Bud Lite when you go here....you just look silly!

Pretty good. Average Irish-style pub in a nice part of town. Burgers were average, but good. Fries were meh. Who cares though, Guinness on tap which makes everything better. Good barkeep.

For me, the best thing about Jack Quinn's is the weekly 5k they sponsor on Tuesday nights - and the discount beer for runners afterward! The run costs nothing, and of course no one is obliged to drink or buy anything, but lots of folks do. If you register and check in for the runs, there's a free dry-fit shirt after 10 runs. A free run and a free shirt -- where else can you get that? Nowhere. I love the sense of community this run brings to all of downtown on Tuesday nights. During the summer, they draw over 1000 people. You can go into any restaurant in town and find people enjoying dinner out while wearing running shorts and shoes. It's awesome. I think all the businesses in the vicinity benefit from this event. Whew... I love this place, and I haven't even started to talk about the beer selection... which is also awesome. Great selection of microbrews and European brews on tap, plus an extensive bottled menu. The waitstaff is always really on their toes, even when the place is jammed. I have never felt disappointed in the service I've gotten here. The food is probably the only thing here that I wouldn't do back-flips over. Not that it's bad, just that there aren't a ton of things on the menu that I'm all that interested in. It's mostly pub fare, with an obvious Irish influence, and a few standard Colorado selections thrown in. The tomato and mozzarella salad is great when the tomatoes are in season, but they aren't always. My friends love the corned beef, but I'm not a corned beef fan anyway, so I can't comment there. The burgers are good. I've been in for live music a few times too. They tend to have a pretty good mix -- nothing too crazy, usually easy to listen to, but it does get loud, which is not so unexpected given that it's a bar and all. What else can I say? For me, enthusiasm goes a long way, and I love this place for everything they do.

The ambiance in the booths is second to none, live music is great, staff is fun and attentive, food is also very good. I love the mussels yum! Try a wasp sting, also very different and delicious

Jack Quinn's is an Irish pub that is a favorite of the locals. There is a nice selection of Irish and American pub cuisine including fish and chips, boxties, shepherd's pie and guineas cheese soup. There are events that occur throughout the week that provide a different experience depending on your interests. Monday is quiz night where you can compete against other teams in a battle of wits. Tuesdays are the run day. Show up around 5 pm and sign up for the 5k run. 10 runs gets you a free T-shirt. My favorite is Thursday which hosts the Irish music of Brian Clancy. I could spend an hour discussing the beverage selection so I will sum it up by saying "give it a go!"

Their Corned Beef dinner is delightful. I like to add a dash of Balsamic Vinegar to the cabbage to top off the meal. Love their United Kingdom fish and chips.

So I went here for the first time last Friday because I was in the area and I heard it was good plus I love Irish pubs so I couldn't resist. I loved the atmosphere. I was in there at about 2 to have lunch so there weren't a whole lot of people but I didn't really mind because I don't like super crowded places. Everyone on the staff was super friendly. Their selection of beer and other things was great. I really liked their "beer-tails." I got Guinness with Strongbow underneath and I liked it. I know I could make that at my house but it just tastes different when you have it in a pub. Now to the food. I ordered the shepherds pie and was not disappointed. It came out in this huge bowl smothered in mash potatoes and cheese with a side of Irish soda bread and honey butter. It was TO. DIE. FOR. I was in heaven. the food was cooked perfectly. now the bread was a wee bit on the dry side but as soon as you slather the butter on it and some of the shepherds pie is the next best thing to sliced bread I have ever had. The only sad part was that I ran out of food too soon. :( I will definitely be coming back here again and bringing all of my friends.

Timing is the key. From someone who has vacationed in Ireland twice, if you are looking for a real Irish pub experience, Jack Quinn's is the closest thing you will find in Colorado Springs. The Golden bee up at the Broadmoor is a slightly more authentic pub experience, but it's a British Style Pub and it's ridiculously expensive. Quinn's is a little on the pricey side too, but the food is wonderful...there is almost nothing on the menu I wouldn't recommend. Though ownership has changed over the years, the atmosphere and quality of food has remained high. Pros: Good Traditional Irish Pub Atmosphere (Most Weeknights, but not Friday's or Saturdays); Occasionally live traditional music; Very good food, some traditional dishes, some Americanized; Friendly and mostly attentive staff. Cons: Friday & Saturday nights, some Thursdays, like any other raucous American bar which makes a normal pub style conversation impossible; Limited "On Tap" Beer Selection - Sadly you won't find a wide selection of Irish/British Ales or beers beyond a couple of the usual suspects like Guinness and Murphy's Overall I really enjoy Quinn's, but it suffers from the same failing of many Irish or British style pubs in America in that they try to be many different things instead of just focusing on being the Best Irish Pub in town which would most likely win them more fans all around.

Update: Returned for another visit. Ordered their "boxy" for the first time. A boxy is usually served at breakfast. It is a little thicker than a crepe, but thinner than a traditional American pancake. Mine was filled with moist corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. Drizzled over the top was their signature, delicious mustard-based cream sauce. A winner! Keeping their very good 4-star rating.

Jack Quinn's is one of the main reasons I go downtown. First, the running club every Tuesday evening at 6 pm. Pints for 2.50$ afterwards. The sheer amount of numbers that go is amazing. The record is over one THOUSAND. I don't think I've ever seen a thousand people in the Springs. If you go 10 times you get a dri-fit shirt. Yeah your friends will be jealous. If you want to go for dinner and entertainment, Thursday nights are your friend. Brian Clancy plays traditional Irish sing-a-longs, and heckles those on their phones not singing along. It starts at 7:30, but I would show up a little early to make sure you get a table if you want to eat. Also, try their drink mixes. My personal favorites? The Black and Tan (Guinness and Bass), Snakebite Diesel (currant with Harp and Strongbow), Shandy (Harp and Sprite), and Wasp Sting (Guinness and OJ). Also, try the Stout Cheese soup. If I'm bringing one of my friends who has not been, the soup and first round of drinks is always on me. Sooo good

In all honesty, the food has some room for improvement. I actually prefer the breakfast here. The corn beef hash is one of the region's best. For dinner, again I have to recommend the corn beef and cabbage. The pork roast was pretty wonderful too, but that's it. So why the 3 stars? Well I love the run club. In fact I come here every Tuesday just to run it! The cool people who come every Tuesdays just to drink and run makes this place a joy. You get a real sense of camaraderie.....

I liked the food here a lot. Sometimes I'd get a beer or a drink, but I mainly went for the food. The shepherd's pie was good and so were the pub chips and dips. They had healthy options as well. The running club was pretty cool too. The upstairs and downstairs have slightly different feels, but both were fun!

I was very impressed with how " on top of it" our server was last night. Was with a group of about 12 and never had to wait for anything. Awesome service!

Mixed experiences at Jack Quinn's. Sometimes it feels like a quiet little pub where you can enjoy a hard cider and crabcakes or shepherd's pie in a booth. Other nights, it's a raucous, obnoxiously loud full on "bar" like anywhere else. I can't seem to be able to figure out which is which. I took my wife there once, and we left right away because it was so loud and there were so many people. Honestly, on a Friday night, it really feels like Rum Bay or one of the other sleazy bars across the street. When it's quiet, it's quite classy. When it's loud, it's packed with people and there may not be a seat in the house. I am not a fan of the live music, and I really should find out when it plays, to avoid it. I'm not a prude, but I do not like going out with a friend for a good time, and finding out that you have to stand with your drink, and you have to yell because you can't hear each other. Bring change for the meters, by the way. The upstairs is quite amazing for groups--the food is excellent, and if you can get a good server, they really take care of you. I went there for a company party once, and it was fantastic. We stayed for a few hours, ordering rounds, singing drinking songs, and telling jokes. We stayed for dessert because they have such a great desert menu (who knew?). The chocolate lava cake is excellent. I have a Irish buddy I like to go there with sometimes. We wanted to watch the 2010 Rugby World cup and asked if they had it on TV, but they didn't. C'mon... an Irish Alehouse? No Rugby? Really? There are definitely "fanboys" who think Quinn's can do no wrong. I'm not one of them. It's a fun place... sometimes.

Absolutely delicious! I wish we wouldn't of waited so long to have dinner here. The corned beef and cabbage was amazing! My husband had the bangers and mash and also loved it. I loved how our table was in this little nook. You could talk about anything and not have to worry about the people sitting next you hearing your whole conversation. Our waitress, Katie, was by far the best waitress we have had in a LONG time. She was super friendly and tentative even though it was a full house. We will be back for dinner again!

My review is strictly from night time/club standpoint. I have not tried the food (but I've heard great things). I have to say Jack Quinn pub is a nice break from the Blondie's, and Thirsty Parrot's.. that downtown springs has to offer. Ick... and more Ick! Here you won't find a Miley cyrus remix to dance to but good ol fashioned Irish music. It's a comforting setting with hard wood walls and a large bar. The front area has enclosed booths for you to have more privacy, the "center" area with small 2-4 people tables, then the stage for the performers with more seating next to it. It's nicely sized and just a fun, authentic Irish interior. Overall a nice place to enjoy a beer and perform a jig with friends. **I'm going to check out the Jack Quinn running club this summer, another way to stay active and have food and drink with friends on a weekday.

Jack Quinn's is great! Their food is consistent and delicious and the atmosphere is cozy. My husband and I can go for happy hour beers (great happy hour!) or bring our kiddo and have a nice family meal. I am not sure why the waitstaff gets low reviews they have always been friendly and helpful.

What is wrong with me? I should have touted this wonderful Colorado landmark much earlier. My wife and I love this place because it screams authenticity and neighborhood. Like stepping into a local pub in Boston. The waitstaff are super friendly and competent, the food is well-prepared and the cooks have a definite point of view. The tap beer is fresh and poured with care and the atmosphere brings one back to home, regardless of your origin. I like the Irish classics--meat pies, corned beef, fish and potatoes. Pretty much all the offerings are good bar fare, with hearty portions. We always feel relaxed and comfortable in this place...I wished they had more live Irish music though. Nonetheless, you will enjoy JQIAH&P!

Hard to add anything that other ppl haven't commented on... but this place rocks!!!! Steaks are amazing, great shepherd's pie, and the wings are the best in the city! Great drinks... really awesome Bombs! Very fun atmosphere. Something going on every night.

You know the 2nd grade retort, "If you love it so much, why don't you marry it?" Well, I would marry Jack Quinn's in a heartbeat. I *do* love it that much. The Top 10 Things I Love About Jack Quinn's 1. The Atmopshere: Lacks pretension, huge open space, and when there's live music it's... lively! 2. The Booths: if you're lucky enough to get one, they feel so secluded. 3. The Upstairs: more space, more bathrooms, another bar, and billiards! 4. The Tuesday Night Running Club: SUPER easy to join, you don't have to be there right on time to do it, and they offer great discounts on food and drinks after your run is done. 5. Monday Night Trivia: Geeks Who Drink! Bring your friends, come up with a cool team name, and see how smart you are! 6. The Snakebite Diesel: a combination of Harps, Strongbow and Miwadi. Probably too fruity a beer for some, but not for this girl. 7. The Irish Nachos: I crave these on a regular basis. Corned beef, potatoes and cheese served on potato chips with sour cream and Mary Rose sauce on the side. Holy mother. 8. The Sage & Garlic Bookmaker Sandwich: The sage really brings out the flavor in this sandwich, and I like the dipping sauce that comes with it. 9. The BBQ Pulled Turkey Sandwich - the only problem is it's too big to fit in my mouth (yeah, yeah, that's what she said, hardy har har). Seriously, any sandwich that is topped with avocado and onion rings if f'ing AWESOME. 10. The people who come to this bar. Again, a total lack of pretension and instead a gathering of people who want to have a great time. If I were single I would come to this bar to meet a decent guy, as opposed to a guy who snorts lines of coke off the bar and probably has VD (Yes, Blondie's, I'm talking to you).

Decent food, great waitstaff, and a wonderful, friendly hostess... but my god, this place has some surly bartenders. If you're sitting at the bar, plan on it taking about an hour and a half to make eye contact, and don't expect it to ever happen again.

I went there for lunch several months ago with my X and her family. This place looks exactly like the watering holes you'd find in Ireland, England, and Scotland - I really liked the ambiance... and nice beer selection. As far as their food goes I got the corn-beef and cabbage and thought it was pretty tasty.

Just stopped in for some drinks. While the bartenders are great, the bar itself is dismal. The music was ridiculously loud for the crowd of...well, us. About 6-8 people in the whole place and a live band screeching out Third Eye Blind and Jars of Clay. Huh?

Ate here with some coworkers during a long week of business travel. We happened upon live music and great food. I ordered the Guinness Beef boxty, topped with Bleu cheese sauce. We had the Irish nachos for starters (which was a meal itself and very hearty). The entire night I had Fat Tire from the tap (especially nice since I live east where that's hard to come by). The atmosphere was great. Large wooden booths, wood work bar, and a permanent stage built in the center of the long floor plan. Oh, and I asked for a takeout menu when I left, and they gave me a real one. Great place to go with friends or to make new ones.

Waiting staff at all times of the day are very polite and quick. Even when the place is PACKED you get your food quickly, and it always tastes awesome. They have live music most nights, and drink and food specials throughout the week. This is a great place to go eat and drink with some friends....I can't say it's a quiet place to take a date though, it can get loud in Quinn's. Their bartenders are great, they'll explain drinks to you and recommend brews. I recommend Smithwick's (on tap) or if you're into sweet drinks, a "Sleepy Juice". Enjoy Quinn's for lunch or dinner, a great place....I keep going back....OFTEN.

Great atmosphere in a convenient downtown location. The wait for a downstairs table was 45 minutes so we opted to eat upstairs where there was no wait. They have a great bar upstairs of carved wood. There's a couple of pool tables and some dart boards. You can rent out the room for private parties. To start, I had some Murphy's Red imported from Ireland. Smooth and tasty. We ordered Irish Nachos as our appetizer; this was a large plate of homemade potato chips mixed with chunks of potato and corned beef, topped with green onion and melted cheddar cheese. Served with sides of sour cream and Mary Rose sauce. For dinner, Mrs T ordered Ale House Fish & Chips. These were excellent. Lightly breaded fish served alongside homemade chips, with tarter sauce and homemade coleslaw. I ordered the Shepard's Pie, a mixture of ground sirloin and vegetables, slow roasted for maximum flavor and topped with Yukon gold potatoes and cheddar cheese. A splash of HP sauce was all that was needed to finish it. On the side it came with 2 slices of Irish soda bread.

Jack Quinn Irish Ale House & Pub - A Haiku There is not much to say about this Irish Pub, Bring me some haggas! Follow me on this meandering tale of intrigue and wonder! Friend from far away is in town that's not that close. But i have nothing to do. So why not drive an hour for a beer. Better than nothing! So away we trekked to the town that is not close to me. We picked up the friend from far away. I pulled out my trusty iPhone, clicked open the ap that is Yelp and looked at anything nearby. This place was on top of the list. A short drive, a quick walk and we were here. Up the stairs, to the bar. Good conversation, nice glass of whiskey, typical bar fare in the belly, more glasses of whiskey, more conversation. A good night. The end. Seriously though, this is a good example of an Irish Pub. Most of them are similar. The food here wont win any awards. The bar tender was a good guy, he hooked us up, we tipped him out. You know how it works. The plus is the music was low enough to allow conversation. The minus was the drinks were kinda pricey. But all in all its about what you expect from an an Irish pub.

LOVE LOVE LOVE JACK QUINN'S!!! I grew up in CO and when I left this was one of the places I missed the most. My husband and I go at least once everytime we visit!! :) Pub Chips & Dip (amazing!) Irish Stout Beef Boxty (!!!) --Usually what I get. I tried the Ale House Fish & Chips once and didn't like it though. Too Greasy. But other than that I've never had a disappointing meal!

A little expensive. More about the atmosphere than anything else I think. the food is just OK. Nothing to get too excited about. The Beer selection is pretty good, but again they are a little high on the drink prices. Fun, casual, different. This place keeps me coming back every once in a while...

Awesome! Love the atmosphere and all the enclosed booths. We had a great server last night (Katie). I had the corned beef boxty and it was fantastic. The corned beef was super tender and the cabbage was nice as well. The mustard sauce was a little bland, but forgivable considering how great everything else was. Big fan.

Great place for a beer, cider or ( reasonably priced, compared to most everyone else downtown) delicious Irish coffee. Like the ambience of the tucked-away booths and tables by the fireplace-- this place definitely has great atmosphere as a bar/pub. However, as an English girl, the food was a pretty bitter disappointment, so I wouldn't recommend eating here especially if you're looking for any degree of authenticity (pretty tasteless bangers, and Marigold's makes a WAY better fish and chips.)

Tuesday night running club is a great way to stay motivated in the high altitude. I was in town on business and a co-worker suggested I check out Jack Quinn's running club at 6pm on Tuesday nights. I knew people in Colorado Springs were active, but who knew they' could get nearly 1000 people running for fun together? I highly recommend going to Jack Quinns on Tuesday nights...

This is an awesome place when you want to hang out with your friends but don't really feel like dancing. Awesome wait staff and bartenders and super awesome chips and dip. Get them with bacon and cheese if you don't mind your heart exploding. The corned beef boxty is also delicious. It's like a St. Patrick's day meal wrapped up in a crepe. They used to have live Irish music by this guy who would make you singalong. I haven't been in a while, but nothing beats banging your hand on the table and swearing during a singalong.

First time at this bar, actually any bar in general, and I had a great experience! People were friendly, drinks were excellent, food was good, music was good, atmosphere was good, but the only thing on the downside is that it was very crowded and the music was so loud it was hard to get waiters/waitresses attentions and even trying to order was difficult. But overall I had a fun time!

Irish beef boxie! It was good! They were doing pub quiz! Last place I was at a pub quiz was in ENGLAND!!! I loved it, the food was great! Our waitress was very nice, and open late enough that I can get some food my time! Only reason I can think of to go to Downtown... cause seriously this is all Colorado Springs got......

After stumbling upon this street doing an impromptu visit to Colorado Springs, Andy M decided the best looking joint on the block was Jack Quinn's. I was initially worried about this place, as we and another fellow stood waiting to be seated for what seemed like a really long time, and then a lacksidasical waiter/bartender (??) came out from the back and just sort of waved at a random table for us to sit. But then we had a really cool waitress who was on top of her game, bringing us refills of drinks and the food piping hot from the kitchen. Andy wanted to try the curry chips, which seemed like an OK idea at the start, until they actually came out. A massive platter of thick cut french fries, covered in finely chopped bacon (yes, bacon. There was supposed to be cheese too, thank god I talked him out of that!) and 2 sauces, one that tasted like ranch and the other that tasted like sweet mustard (not sure where the "curry" part comes in here). It was horrible and completely decadent and evil and rich all wrapped up into one thing. If you like death served up hot, you are going to want an order of these. So after that experience, I wasnt too disappointed when my fish cake sliders came out too dry with a heavy oil taste. You got two and I didnt finish either, by that time there had been enough oil injested into the system as it was. But the interior rocks, it looks just like an old fashioned pub in Ireland might look, with lots of wood paneling, a great big bar that spanned almost one whole side, and a painted tin ceiling. If I found myself out that way again I would definitely go back. Just not for those deadly fries! Excuse me, I have to go unclog an artery or two now...

The good news is that I finally found a Irish Pub that I can call home. The bad news is that it's 1,000 miles from where I live. If I lived in Colorado Springs, this would be my new hangout. The interior is beautiful. Jack Quinn's has a rustic, dark wooded bar. There are pictures of Ireland all over the dining area. And eating area is filled with enclosed booths that gives it a real intimate feel. Talk about decadence? We started out with an order of Irish Chips, covered in bacon. The Chips (more like thick cut fries) came with two different Currie sauces for dipping. My entree was a Garlic Steak Sandwich. The steak was a lean Rib Eye that was covered with melted Provolone Cheese and came with a cup of gravy. The gravy reminded me of the sauce they give you with a French Dip. It was wonderful. We had a great experience at Jack Quinn's. The food was great. The atmosphere was awesome and the service was top notch. I can't recommend it enough.

Jack Quinn's is on the bar strip of South Tejon in the Beach, and this in itself should send out danger warnings. Nonetheless, this is the best of the Beach in terms of pubs. You have decent seating, nice atmosphere and damn...the service was amazing! Being the DD, she brought me water after water with a smile. We were an obnoxious group of 15, but the servers dealt with us with ease. Oh, and the late-night menu is rocking, and the beer-fries are drunk-divine. Too bad this place is located in hell....

Woo hoo! Irish Pub goodness! It had all the usual suspects (Guinness, Harp, Bass) and the standard decor. In addition to downing Snakebite Diesels (tasty!), we split the loaded chips...oh, do try! It had a great scene with an eclectic crowd. It definitely seemed like a local favorite. I also liked the fact that they really supported the military/police/firefighters. Stop by if you are looking for a laid back hang out.

Worst excuse for an Irish Pub. Each time I've ended up here there is never any Irish entertainment. I'm sitting here on a Saturday listening to Zydeco?!!? The atmosphere is right, but there is nothing authentic going on here. It disapoints me because there is a lot of potential and the Springs needs an Irish pub.. This falls short.

  • Natalie K.

I really like Jack Quinn's, even though I am not much of a pub person. It is always busy on Fridays, but the wait staff is nice. I've gone here a few times before, and it's usually quite hopping. My most recent trip was on New Year's Eve (which, obviously, is much different than a normal night), but the bartender working upstairs (wish I remembered him name...) was slow, and a little rude. He had to ask us several times (4+) what drinks we wanted, and then didn't smile, or even make any chit chat over the 10 minutes we waited for our drinks. I understand it was busy, but maybe don't be a bartender on New Year's Eve if you're going to be disgruntled by that. Either way, I won't blame it on Jack Quinn's, he must've just been having a rough night!

  • Nova S.

I ate there last week and wasn't too pleased with my meal. The corned beef was good, but there wasn't enough sauce on the potato pancake; it was dry. The waitress took the wrong order for my drink, but quickly remedied the situation. I pointed again to the picture in the menu and she brought me the drink in a different glass because they didn't have the shot glass pictured in the menu. The type of glass was critical for the drink ordered. The atmosphere was friendly, civilized, and jovial. Everyone in the establishment appeared to be enjoying themselves. Not a good place for those who aren't beer afficionado's.

This place is rated better than Springs Orleans around the corner? Lol, case-in-point that we need more good food in Colorado Springs. This food fills a hole, removes hunger and comes in big American portions. While the lamb stew is good and the beer is cold, it's not four stars.

I thought this place was really fun. They have live music. I'm guessing whatever he was singing were Irish songs. It was fun listening to it and watching other patrons interacting with the song. Don't expect to have a conversation with friends here. The noise level was extremely loud in this pub. Definitely could come here by myself and totally be entertained. Drinks: Try Devil in Cider. Food: I can't give a fair review on corn beef and cabbage. I've had it a few times before and I hated it each time. It just doesn't suit my palate. It tasted slightly better then next day cold tho... Must try the whiskey maple glaze chicken wings!! It's fingers-licking good. Personally I think it's slighter better than the honey glaze or teriyaki glaze chicken wings. Next time, I will just order beers and wings.

So overall I like Jack Quinn's. If you are in the mood for a beer (or perhaps a good whiskey) you can do a lot worse. They have some nice concoctions also like a Black Velvet (Guinness and champage well sparkling wine) and a Snakebite which I like a lot- beer and hard cider. The bartenders do it right and it does not come out like a mixed up beer. It's layered as it should be. The Guinness is draught and done the only correct way which is with a nitrous hook up and not CO2. They have quite a number of aged whiskeys and scotches. I am not into those these days so I can't really comment on the selection but it looks impressive. So to the food. Well it's pub food. Think pub in Europe like Ireland and England. I've eaten at plenty as I been on a budget at times. Often you can eat at a pub affordably. I feel it's the same way here but certainly better food than I recall in England and a good chunk of the Irish ones, too. Most of the entrees are affordably priced IMHO. There are a few a tad higher like a steak and such. Keep in mind a chunk of their menu is sandwiches and some traditional Irish fare like boxty's. Now I saw a few bad reviews on their boxty's. I will say they are not prepared exactly they way I've seen them in Ireland. They tend to be a bit more of a true potato pancake over in Ireland but Jack's aren't far different and frankly I like theirs better than what I had across the pond. I find them tasty, inventive, and filling. Their sandwiches are quite filling. What is really disappointing as my wife loves 'em and I had entertained out of state friends here that desired them- their pot pies. Sorry Jack- your pot pies lack. The crust is fine and so forth. However, there's next to no meat in them. I've seen it time and time again. Years ago that was not the case from what I recall. Now it's more like thickened soup with a handful of vegetables and an afterthought of meat. Just calling it as I've seen it. My friends hated them and my wife who is very subdued, well you could just look at her face and it said it all. Personally I say stick to the sandwiches, boxty's, and perhaps their corned beef, a couple other things too like the stew. Oh and they have an epic Irish breakfast if you like that sort of thing. If you've spent time over in England or Ireland you know what it is. They do have bangers there and they are decent. I won't get into the reason to the naming. It's a long story. I think their pub fries are fine. I read a bad review but if you dip them in their special sauce I think they are tasty. My friends feel the same way. No, they are not french fries. They have some newer items I've yet to try like sliders. Personally I just find sliders to be a fad thing but hey lamb sliders do sound good to me. I think Jack excels at more of a drinking establishment or a lunch spot. Of course you can order some of the items I mentioned as a dinner and have a good meal. I think the pricing is quite fair for the portions. I love the nice sized and fresh beer. They obviously keep their beer lines (for drafts) well cleaned which is important less you like skunky beer. It gets very crowded around happy hour (good beer prices for the quality) and especially as the week goes on. Weekend days are hit or miss. Seen it slow and busy. I like the decor as it's all good quality dark wood including the bars and booths. I would suggest a booth if you are a couple. Much nicer and private. If it's busy, well it can be standing room so best to order some food and get on a list for a table. Service has typically been darn good for us. I have had a couple misses when with friends and it was either swamped or shift transition time. Never a bad enough experience to keep from returning. Just avoid the pot pies. Sorry Jack. They have live Celtic music sometimes. Meh, I can take or leave it. They have another bar upstairs where they host upbeat bands and is their evening bar scene more or less. It's pretty decent but it's not a club. Oh on noise level- I went with average but if it's a busy happy hour, all bets are off.

Jack Quinn's just didnt work for me.... I love nothing more then to find a good Irish establishment been from the UK I am always hunting for a little taste of home, but this place certainly didn't have what it takes to come close to the Irish pubs back home. I have wrote 3 reviews now for this place and have ended up deleting them, I just cant find the right words to express my thoughts on this place so I am going to keep it super simple. Service sucked I was charged for a drink I didnt even receive- lesson learnt I will scan my bill more closely next time I go out for a meal. Portion sizes are weak and really dont match the price tag. The "chips" are a joke... dont use the word chips when what your going to serve is frozen wedges that are sub par and nothing like the chips you would get in a traditional fish and chips dish. We wont be returning

Best chips & curry sauce in town! I LOVE this place - the atmosphere, the servers, the food, everything! They also have trivia and live music. If they still do it, do yourself a favor and go to brunch on Sunday. It is AMAZING.

Really good food! There was a soccer game on and it was really loud! Definitely a bar, but the menu is extensive with so many yummy choices. You have to like corn beef of course. The list of whiskey choices is long as well. Nice cosy booths if you can grab one with a a few tables outside. Great friendly prompt service.

This is by far the most chilliest and best Irish pub I have ever been to. The environment is so friendly and the servers are amazing. The food I recommending the Irish nachos, Shepard's Pie in a bread bowl and the fish and chips. Each bite of any one will put you in heaven. Thank you for this fine dining experience.

I should preface by saying I waitressed at an Irish Pub years ago so my standards for food and ambience are pretty high when it comes to Pubs. This place definitely has an Irish pub feel. Lots of woodwork, old deep booths, dim lighting. Perfect old world charm. Vampires and hermits will love it's dark, catatonic atmosphere. But, great news is there is also a tiny, four table patio out front, if you are craving some sunshine, and that's where I opted to sit on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The truth is I was craving fish & chips, but their brunch menu dragged me in. $2 mimosas!! Who can pass that up? But you don't exactly mix mimosas and deep fried fish, so I opted for brunch. The full menu has several traditional Irish staples: bangers & mash, corned beef & cabbage, shepherd's pie...however, what I had food wise was only 3 star worthy. The waitress insisted that the "Breakfast Boxti" was her favorite thing on the brunch menu. Potato pancake with bangers, eggs, and gravy, all wrapped together like a burrito. Overall it was just okay, as was my experience. If I ever get a chance to try their more traditional dishes, I will, but overall the place didn't wow me.

I got the chicken boxtie and I honestly wish I could eat them daily. Decent selection of craft beer, could have been better. I have no idea if the soda bread was made from scratch or not but it was delicious. I came with my husband and dog and we sat outside. Our server was very accommodating, and gave our pup water right away. That's always a big plus for me.

Cool atmosphere, but it gets serious packed during weekend rush hours. Food is pretty good--the main thing to know is you have to get the chips not so much because the chips themselves are great, but the Mary Rose dipping sauce is brilliant. The curry sauce is pretty good too. Good selection of Irish/UK beers on tap!

Absolutely delicious! We split the chicken boxkty, Reuben fritters, pub salad, and Guinness cheese soup. We each had a French martini and Cosmo as well. Great ambiance, decent pricing, and awesome food. Highly recommend.

It's St. Patty's day! Get on down to Jack Quinn's! I saw a guy sitting out front this morning at 8am waiting for the festivities to begin. "Quinn's" as it's referred to around these parts is always a good time. The wait-staff is great, the food is excellent, and the beer selection good. Throughout the week they have trivia (Monday night) and live music (not sure what nights). Can't go wrong heading here.

Had lunch today and I must say food was good and up until we ordered our food everything was great. Now with that being said after we placed our order we received no service. No one checked to see how the food was, no additional beverages offered, nothing until we were ready to pay. The bartender had 4 guests until we were done dining then It picked up to 9. She had a couple other tables who were neglected as well with the few times she cleared empty plates. The manager walked around aimlessly from the kitchen to the bar and spent a good amount of time conversing with a lone couple sitting at the bar. I have been in this industry for 16 years and understand how the restaurant and bar works. I've been slammed but have never neglected to follow up on any of my guests. I don't expect 5 star service but I do expect some level of service. I hope this place works on their service standards a bit, I would like to return solely on the food and atmosphere. But fare warning on service....it's slow and almost non existent unless you sit at the bar.

I wanted to be a fan, so badly; however, it wasn't in the cards. Came in with my cousins for lunch and I was starving after just getting off the plane. Ordered a drink (Ketel on the rocks) and started to peruse the menu. I settled on the chicken sandwich and I wish I would've ordered just about ANYTHING else. Sandwich was dry and almost all bread. The tiny piece of chicken was rubbery and bland. A total disappointment. At this point I'd finished my drink and asked if I could have some club soda with a little lime. The waitress said no problem and brought it right over. The rest of my party finished their meals, so we asked for our checks. When mine arrived, I couldn't believe it, I'd been charged $2.50 for the club soda. Listen, I understand if that's all I would've ordered, but that simply wasn't the case. I'd ordered lunch, and a top shelf beverage, yet they decided to charge $2.50 for something that cost them no more than three cents. This was a totally sour experience for me, and next time I come to visit, I'll be sure Jack Quinn isn't on my rotation. I'd have given one star (since zero isn't possible) but our server was really sweet, and I don't want this review to be a reflection on her, she was very good.

Went for a reserved company get together upstairs two months ago. Great atmosphere and I loved the fish and chips. It's definitely worth circling the block waiting for a parking spot. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the service was a bit lacking but that won't stop me from coming back.

Our kiddo was researching Irish culture so we decided to take her here to sample sum it up Loved It. I actually said that I was upset that I was full because I wanted to keep eating. The place is a bit dark and has this old world feel which fit. We went for lunch and had numerous dishes and loved every single one. We will be back again.

I was in town for a conference, so and I and some colleagues dropped by for lunch. It was so good we came back a couple of nights later for trivia night. It was great fun even though we only placed 7th out of 12! Great atmosphere and food.

Good selection of drinks. Decent selection of bar food...not great but definitely acceptable for a bar. Nice place to hang out. Plenty of space upstairs for our group event. The staff was nice but very busy and understaffed so they were a bit slow. Overall it's a nice place to be downtown if you don't want to deal with the typical crazy bar scene.

Loved this place the first time I went a few days ago, I've been back twice already! Great Irish pub experience. The food has been great every time I've visited. It reminds me of a pub back home in Indiana. Looking forward to visiting again and bringing more friends!

  • James F.

The food is great, the drinks are strong and fairly priced, and they have some of the best gluten-free bread I've ever had. They also serve food later than almost all other businesses in The Springs. My only complaints are that it's VERY loud, table seating often has a wait time, and because it's so busy and hectic there the visits from the wait staff are often spaced pretty far apart and service is slow. Also, you're not always dealing with the same wait person throughout your meal so orders can get forgotten or mixed up. We've had a few confusing situations there that left us shaking our heads on the way out. Still, the redeeming qualities keep us coming back now and then. You won't be in and out quickly and you can't have an intimate conversation with your date but if you want a fun pub with live music to spend the evening at, you got it!

  • Logan R.

Great atmosphere! Has a good Irish pub feel. Went for a family dinner and it was a little busy but we were able to sit right down. Loved the live music. The service could've been better, but the food made up for it. Lots of delicious Irish classics. Overall an enjoyable experience.

I have been to this establishment a few times with my co-workers. Beer is their specialty, their food was OK. I don't have anything bad to say about this joint, but I have been to better places. I guess my main issue was the fact that they seemed understaffed for such a large group (our group had called in prior, about 10 days in advance, so they were prepared for us) unfortunately, it seemed as if our reservation fell on deaf ears. If you have time to spare I recommend this bar / restaurant, if you're in a rush, go elsewhere.

  • Jeremy K.

When I lived in The Springs this was one of my favorite spots. The food is good, Irish nachos are amazing! The music was typically good. The staff are always friendly. I just enjoyed going here regularly for all those reasons. I still have gone to The Springs almost once a week and try to make it to trivia on Monday nights for a good time. My only minor complaint is the beer choices. I get it's more of a whisky place, and don't get me wrong I love whisky, but the beer selection is pretty mediocre.

I come to Jack Quinn's for the Run on Tuesday nights most every week. We come, check in, get our bands, and head out. When we come back we usually grab a table and have our 2 dollar beers and order dinner. I used to LOVE the food, but lately they haven't been quite as good. The Shepards pie has always been a favorite of mine. But since they started making it a bit different, I have been ordering different items. I'm thinking they are slightly understaffed on Tuesday nights and maybe they are so busy it's hard to spend the same amount of time making sure everyone is happy. We've had a couple nights that we had a group with us, with kids, and we had to wait two hours for a table... we wouldn't have waited that long had they actually estimated our wait time more accurately. The manager more than made up for it though when we were allowed to make a reservation for a large group with children another time. They totally took care of us. Our servers are always very pleasant, albeit busy... When we have come on different days whether for lunch or dinner our experience is a bit better. Don't get me wrong. I will continue to come for the Run and the beer, and the food even. I just hope they get a few more people in there on Tuesday nights. :)

I was here with my family last week. Based fully on food my rating would be around 3 stars. Everything was edible, but none of it really stood out. The additional stars are for the service, which was fantastic. It was busy, and we had a show to make, so I was skeptical. We were sat right away, the food came quickly, and the waitress was fast with the drinks. We'll definitely be back.

  • Amber A.

This place was fantastic! When we walked in, we were seated right away in this secluded little booth.. It gave it a really private feeling even as the place got more and more busy. Great set up and atmosphere. Our server was friendly and knew a lot about the menu. I got the Irish farmhouse salad and a dry dock apricot beer.. both were delicious. The salad was good sized and the lettuce was REALLY fresh. Reasonable prices... The only downfall to this place is the parking, or lack of. Other than that, it was likely the best restaurant we've ate at here in Colorado Springs.

Came for lunch. Table had fish and chips and two Reubens. Both Reuben eaters claimed it was the best they ever had. Service was great and food was fast. Would come to again for lunch.

This place is so good that I have legitimate regrets having gone to any other bars here besides this one and Alchemy (both amazing for different reasons). I got the whiskey bourbon chicken wings, which I had never even imagined before, and they were SO GOOD! We also had the pretzel/sausage skewers and my fiance had the standard burger, which he said was one of the best pub burgers he's ever had. I also got the Belhaven Scottish ale and really enjoyed that, too. We went during happy hour, so all of the appetizers were half off and if I remember correctly, the drinks were only $3 or $4 each. The atmosphere is really comfortable and is exactly what an Irish pub should be. I love that there is a fireplace in there. I'm not into rowdy pubs or bars and this one seems to get full, but not crazy. Seems like a family place. Our waitress was also really nice and gave us great service. Definitely going to be a repeat customer!

Its always a blast to head to this Irish pub, it is so authentic. Late night is always fun, but a great place to grab some dinner and a beer as well. I love the private booths, but if you are looking to mingle just sit at the bar. You will for sure meet an interesting crowd!

  • Dennis H.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to Irish bars. Jack Quinn looks the part, but it really doesn't deliver for me. The beer selection is what you'd expect from an Irish bar, so you can get a well-poured pint of Guinness, Smithwick's, Harp, and many others. It's a good selection. The food is a let-down. I've eaten there a number of times, and the only thing I really enjoyed was the chips with dipping sauces. The atmosphere is pretty "downtown," meaning there isn't a sense of regulars or community. Everyone seems to go there to go there, and it's not really a family.

  • Amanda G.

In all fairness, my 3-star rating is probably due to the fact that I ordered the WRONG food for a pub: a salad. But seriously, how hard is it to screw up a salad?? I started off a night of bachelorette party (not my own) celebration here, and let me just say that parking in downtown Colorado Springs is a nightmare on weekend nights! I circled and twisted through the area a bazillion times before the ladies I was meeting actually stood in a spot until I could circle around the block. They pissed off quite a few people in the process but thanks ladies! I got a space right in front of Jack's. The atmosphere inside was amazing. Very noisy and busy and Irish-looking. I imagine it's what typical Irish pubs look like, but I've yet to go to Ireland... Prices were okay - they could have been cheaper, but they didn't make my credit card want to hide for cover either. Except my beer! I had a Guinness (yum, Guinness) and it cost me $5 and change. I hate bar prices!!! I can buy a whole case of Guinness for a buck more at the liquor store. Still, I guess it's better than the bars up the way that charge the same price for a shot. Ick, no thank you. I am soooo not into the whole bar/club thing. The menu at JQ's looked wonderful - shepherd's pie, Irish stew, fish and chips. What possessed me to order a salad, I will never know. Especially one with bleu cheese...I hate bleu cheese! And yet I inevitably order it, hoping that my palate will magically revamp itself to it's adult stage, leaving me with more of a taste for caviar and stinky cheese than Twizzlers and Goldfish....But I had the salad. It barely had any apple, and the bacon was cooked to the consistency of gravel. But the bachelorette ordered Irish nachos and they were awesome! Those alone were five stars. And I got a piece of Irish soda bread with my salad, and that was delish too. If I ever get back down to that area, I think I'll be back. I'll just order food I know they do well and not complain about the cost of my beer. One last note: I would have loved a band that had an Irish undertone, but it was just a cover band playing current popular music. And they were loud! Almost unbearably so.

This place is great, good beer and great food. Especially the Shepherd's pie

  • Princess Kim R.

Holy crap. I had my first Shepherd's pie here. It is SO good! The atmosphere is nice. It's not the coziest place, nor the nicest, but I like it all the same. It's comfortable. The food is pretty good. I didn't drink while there, so I can't speak for the drinks, but dang. Get the Shepherd's pie! For Colorado Springs, this is a pretty cool place. My only complaint isn't even with Jack Quinn, but with the surrounding area. Having been a visitor to "downtown" Colorado Springs from San Diego, California, my question is: Where's the downtown? I thought downtowns were supposed to be hustle and bustle. This place is dead!

Best Irish pub in Colorado. Has all the Irish beers including Kilkenny. Try it. Best fish & chips I've had anywhere. Great fun.

It's a great place to be when I want to see my friends or firefighters in kilts playing bagpipes during certain times of the year. Love the food but no a single bartender has poured me a Guinness right in all of Colorado Springs.

If you are stopping by downtown Colorado Springs, Jack Quinn's is a must. The running club on Tuesday nights is a cool way to meet new people, while getting exercise (5k run). On Thursday nights, Brian Clancy, who plays Irish drinking songs sets up shop and that is a lot of fun going with a bunch of friends. Nothing like swearing at the top of your lungs! I've been to Jack Quinn's many times for drinking and swearing, but only recently did I try out their food. My friend told me that they had the best burgers in the world and with a recommendation like that, I had to try it. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to those incredible expectations. It was good, don't get me wrong, but not the best I've ever had. I also had the shepherd's pie and that was just ok too. On judging the food alone, I would give Jack Quinn's 3 stars. But, with its festive atmosphere, along with the running club and Brian Clancy, this is one of my favorite places in Colorado Springs.

I have been to Jack Quinns before for their trivia night and thought it was a nice place and that the trivia game was fun but tonight I was turned away for having an expired license. I just moved to Colorado and it has only been expired for two weeks. The guy at the door wanted to put two huge black X's on my hands. I'm 28! Screw you Jack Quinn.

Irish Pub, theres one in every decent city and they all should be this legit. The seating is neat, nice privacy booths to minimize the noise if you go for dinner - which you should. The food is good, not great, but good and for an Irish Pub its exactly what it should be with all the classics. Good beer selection along with wine and when there is a band I've never been disappointed. I adore the miniature tables with stools, the dark wood authenticates the place and makes it feel old, which i like. Upstairs is great when it's crowded or for big groups. Cheers!

After a LOOOOONG rambling drive from Denver and through the Garden of the Gods and up to Seven Falls, my buddies and I found ourselves in Colorado Springs and starving. None of us had any clue where we were much less what was around us so out came the trusty blackberry and yelp.com ! This place was just 2 blocks from where we were and was highly rated so we trusted the almighty yelpers and in we went. The place was fairly empty as it was a Tuesday afetrnoon in July but the bartender was very friendly and helpful. The beer was delicious (come on...when isn't it, really?) and we were so starving we had to jump into a Jack Quinn Trio appetizer. Everything on here was freaking delicious, I especially loved the baked shrimp dip, and we practically licked the plate clean! My friends ordered the shepherd's pie and fish and chips and were both completely satisfied with their chioces. I ordered the Monaghan club and it was a very good sandwich, that multigrain bread was the perfect balance of grainy yet delicious....if that makes sense to you, but trust me, it was good.

Overnight in Colorado Springs with my mom and sister. Three women--can we make up our minds where to eat? Not until we saw fish fries on JQ's menu. Perfect! We scarfed down the beer batter Alaska cod and seasoned fries with malt vinegar and terrific oniony tartar sauce. I wasn't wild about the Mary Rose sauce--too sweet. But the coleslaw was great. Service was fast, attentive, with just the right friendly tone. Terrific Irish pub atmosphere. Loved it!

We stopped in at Jack Quinns before heading to a show at the Pikes Peak Center. It came highly recommended by the desk clerk at our motel and she didn't steer us wrong. Nice Irish pub atmosphere, frequent live music (although not always trad. Irish, but a good mix), pub trivia, good selection of draft beers, friendly staff. Good food, though more faux Irish than authentic.

A great Irish Bar. Excellent selection of beers, and a couple of TVs. When I was there they were showing NFL football on one, and soccer (Setanta) on the other. If you are showing soccer, you get my vote. Typical selection of beers on tap: Guiness, Harp, Smithwick's, and several ales. Happy Hour prices were $2.50 a pint! The staff is excellent. When I was there, Ken was tending bar and was very friendly. I went on a Sunday afternoon/early evening - there was a large group in the back playing Irish music - lots of guitars, fiddles, etc. Not a band per se, more like a guitar pull. Or maybe a fiddle pull. Anyway, it made for a nice atmosphere. The interior was typical Iriash Bar: dark wood, etc. I liked the fire helmets above the bar. A very nice touch. I'd go back. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I'll be back sooner than later!

For larger parties, don't make reservations unless you get a contract. I had reserved half of the upstairs area a month out and called the day before to make sure everything was okay and was assured it was. As guests started arriving they tried to section of a large area of the downstairs and it turned into a giant fiasco. They wound up triple booking upstairs and we were the first to go. They did offer 10% off food (not alcohol) which is pretty much nothing; I much rather paid that and had things go right. What's the most aggravating part is that they had to have known about this ahead of time, they had my phone number, and I called them and they didn't once tell me that they were going to make this change. On the upside, Good traditional Irish pub fare. They used to be part of the united miles program and we got 3-6 miles for every dollar spent, but it seems they got rid of that perk as well.

Let me start by saying if there wasn't music and lots of people there, this would have been a 4. Jack Quinn's get an extra star for atmosphere. (IE: If you go on a night there isn't music and a bunch of people you probably won't have as good of a time.) The decor is great, cozy, yet "old world" style feeling. The food was excellent. My wife and I shared the appetizer "blue cheese fondue". Honestly I wasn't to lick out the little blue cheese fondue pot when it was over. Great stuff. I had the fish and chips and my wife had a tomato, mozzarella and basil salad. The fish was good, fried up just right, and the chips were decent quality potatoes. We split a "sundae" at the end of the evening and enjoyed a very rich chocolate brownie covered in chocolate ice cream (we upgraded from Vanilla). Excellent stuff. Lots of drinks to choose from on the menu as well. The service was very friendly, wonderfully helpful, and they didn't pester at all. We'll be back again.

I was really looking forward to trying their food but was disappointed. I got the pot roast and hubby got the corned beef. They both were a bit tasteless and could use some salt. Although my side salad and the bread it came with was really yummy. Service was good but id probably just come for a drink next time.

Amazing place. Great food (try the Shepherds Pie!), and the Black & Tan will make you smile. Decent prices too. Not really a kid place, although we've seen kids in here during dinner. We come here quite a bit. It can get pretty crowded on weekend evenings, but the food is good, the prices are decent, and the crowd tends to be more adult. They bring in live bands, and the bartenders and waitstaff are pretty cool. This is my favorite place in town to grab a drink, eat, and hang out. Expect to wait in line for the restrooms, as they're single toilet affairs.

Thursday nights Clancy really brings it with some traditional and not so traditional Irish drinking songs. For a bar they have some really healthy food choices. My favorite being the Jerk Chicken Salad. If you aren't watching your waist line definitely get the Chips and Dip or the Irish Wings.

Hit or miss Food is always AWESOME ! But service can suck...There is this 1 waitress that has been there forever if you dont get her your ok but if you do she acts like you are putting her out...LIke you should serve her.ugh..she needs to get another job.... Its insane on St Pattys day.. All ages of people. Great beer. Like I said hit or miss on service ...but the food rocks!

Jack Quinn's was a pleasure. It was a bit pricy for the chicken sandwhich, but it tasted pretty good. The service was great, we started with a drink while we waited and the bar tender was funny and engaging. As is the case most of the time, I think my company made this experience what it was, good conversation was the highlight of the night and the food, although good, was not memerable. I'd be willing to come back, but may look for something different if I'm trying to focus on the food.

GREAT Irish Pub. My husband and I took our 6 month old daughter here on a Wednesday night. I had read reviews about their LOUD music and was expecting to turn away. But their website showed they don't have any live bands on Wednesdays. YEAH!!!!! The food here is AWESOME! I got fish and chips and my husband got corned beef and cabbage in a pocket of some sort. FABULOUS!!! And the beers ROCK!

I love this place. I have been going for years and even had our rehearsal dinner upstairs. I have never had a bad meal and we have ordered everything from the fish and chips to the shepherds pie. The servers are always really nice, but I would have to say that Dennis is the best. He's always behind the bar though. Having been to Ireland and loving it, this place brings me back. It's the closest thing to an authentic Irish pub that you will find in town. Some nights it can be a little crazy in there, but with the limited number of decent bars in town, what do you expect? love, love, love Quinns!

hit and miss I'm assuming, from what i read from the other reviews. It was my first time here obviously, and the roomate wanted to take me to "Irish Pub Night" for his work since he knows how much I love Irish Pubs. While I love pub atmospheres and just digging into some grub, something just rubbed me the wrong way. The menu was typical of Irish-American-burgers, boxty's and pies. They had some veggie options, thankfully. Every Thurs and Sat. are live music nights and while I usually like live music, something about the songs made me really miss a certain someone from my past, back in the Emerald Isle. They had some fiddler (who was really good) and a guy singing "traditional" songs. It was cool for the 1st hour. But no joke, the music lasted about 3-4hrs. After awhile it got to be obnoxious, and I just wanted to eat a dinner and have a drink-not get stuck in some obligatory concert. I was getting a headache from all the banging and stomping, and the dude seemed to make crowd participation mandatory. Otherwise he would pick on you. Homie is also from CA, but tried to speak with an Irish accent (it sounded off). that bothered me-it's like a white guy with Asian letters on his tattoo. cultural faux pas. i wouldn't mind coming back again on a regular pub night to mingle and drink, but i was happy to leave this time around.

Whenever friends or family come to visit, this is the place I LOVE to take them too. My coworkers and I enjoy going here occasionally too. Between the fantastic variety of food and the Irish atmosphere, the place is a must! Some of my favorites are the Clam Chowder, Bangers and Mash, Nachos (seriously...these things are MASSIVE), and the Black Mussels. Yum Yum Yum!

We went to this pub on a Sunday night. I had a Smithwick's and it was good. Having read about previously on my iTouch, we had the Irish nachos and they were as excellent as the other reviewers said. The four of us had four different entrees and they were all very good. The service was prompt and friendly. I just wish we could have made it on a Friday or Saturday night to sample the atmosphere. No complaints and we will definitely make a point of coming again on our next visit to Colorado.

Two words: Irish. Nachos. They are SO GOOD! But I guess anything smothered in the Mary Rose sauce would be good. They have good salads and lighter fare too which is nice. And the atmosphere is great. Even though in some of the booths I end up sitting a bit too far away from the table, I like the enclosed feeling. It's also fun to sit outside on the patio in the summer and people watch.

Most bars/pubs care more for their drinks than their dishes. Jack Quinn's has a great variety of dishes that all taste great. One correction from earlier reviews though, they don't have a veggie burger. They do have a veggie flatbread that tasted great, but again, no veggie burger.

This is really a place where everybody knows your name . . . at least on Thursday nights. I know a big group of regulars who have been going there for years for the Thursday singalong night. Every time I go I see at least 2 groups of people I know. Quinn's is a classic Irish pub with the expected fare-- good Irish beer on tap, yummy fish and chips (try the chips alone with the curry and rosemary dipping sauces!), Irish band some nights, and big wooden tables upstairs. It's right in the middle of Colorado Springs's most popular nightlife destination-- Tejon Street downtown.

  • Alicia R.

About the closest one will ever come to a pub in Colorado Springs - and that's saying a lot since I grew up in the UK plus have been to Ireland. I love the wood fixtures everywhere - they look like they've been imported directly from an actual pub. Especially *love* the wooden bar upstairs. The alcohol selection is great, and the dessert I tried (I think it was the apple pie or something) was really good. Look forward to going there again sometime!

Jack Quinn's is a place with great ambience and an Irish theme that promotes good times and an authentic feel of a real Irish Pub. HOWEVER, their food is NOT delectable (except for their fries). If you are planning to go there to eat, choose another location. But for pints of Guiness and Harp, this is the coziest, coolest hangout to spend time after an exhausting week or day. Once again, I advise NOT going there for the food. There's MUCH to be desired.

I have to admit right up front that I am bias when it comes to Jack Quinn's as I am, no kidding, in there several times a week. My good friend is a waitress there and I've come to love all the staff because of my frequent trips. But speaking from a time before I loved it for more than its food, beer and atmosphere, this place is amazing. My family discovered it 4 years ago when they moved here, I enjoyed it on my summers in town and now that I've moved here I can really appreciate it. I've never had a bad experience, not once. Weekends are noisy, especially Big Paddy nights, but sometimes that's what you want. The people are always nice, not just staff but clientele as well, I've made most of my friends in town from Quinn's. All I can say is try it, and ask for Katie Grant, she'll make your experience all the better for it.

Ah, one of my favorite bars in Colorado Springs, no, Colorado. Good beer, good food, and friendly staff. If you wipe the fish and chips on the brick wall it would probably become translucent from the oil, excellent. Brian Clancy on Thursday evening is great.

I went around 2 o'clock on a Tuesday for a late lunch. The Guinness, of course, is great. However, I never thought I would say this, but the house veggie burger was amazing. It isn't meant to taste like meat (which is usually a failure). Instead it is a patty of chickpeas and other beans that has been fried until dark. The oldish atmosphere was great; not too crowded at the time I went. The bartender/waiter (Kenny I think) was extremely friendly and always made sure things were going well.

Jack Quinn's is a great place to have a good time. They have good tasting food (the Reuben sandwich and their Shephard's Pie kick my butt) and excellent beer (hello, Beamish!!). Downstairs is usually pretty popular, especially on Thursday and Sunday nights. Thursday is the Irish sing-a-long night and it gets pretty rowdy. Sunday is karaoke night. The booths downstairs are fun for a small group. Upstairs they can't make up their minds - either a live band and pretty active or dead, but that is the only place you can get your Beamish (its better than Guinness). All in all this place is great!

Being from out of town we only visited this place once, but we had a great time! After a long day of geocaching we came in for a late(r) dinner and drinks on a Saturday night. This is one of the more authentic feeling Irish-style pubs, filled with hard wood and even the high walled booths that make you feel like you have a room to yourself. They had a live band playing the night we were there - "Big Paddy" ( bigpaddyirishmusic.com ). Apparently they have a quite decent, and quite eclectic collection of fans. It got pretty rowdy and was very fun. But I digress. The food: We had fish and chips, very yummy, and the shrimp dip (mmm... maybe pick something else. A generous portion, but nothing to rave about). My husband had the reuben, and it was pretty great. The beer: Tons of it on tap, and several English and Irish beers that you often don't see on tap in the states. The pints were each $5, which is more than we usually pay, so just a heads up on that. My rating system (for the curious): Five Stars - Fantastic. I'd go often if I could. Four Stars - Really good. It's likely I'll return. Three Stars - Good, but I won't seek it out for a return visit. Two Stars - I won't go again. This could be due to food, price, atmosphere, whatever. One Star - I won't go again and I suggest everyone follow suit.

Very solid faux Irish Pub in the heart of Tejon street. Good food & beers. 2 floors, the upstairs is not always open but when they have music downstairs it can be nice to have the option to get away from the noise. Being so big can make it feel a bit dead when they don't have a crowd. Thou they hype having the big soccer matches the TVs are not set-up well so it's not a good place to watch a game.

  • Ali L.

One star for the ambience, one star for the fun people-watching, both in spite of: Waiting 15 to 20 minutes before having to ask if there was a server... there was, who had walked by us a dozen times. Waiting 10 minutes for our drinks. The horrible excuse for food... soggy fish n chips, oily (like dropping oil) spinach dip, and a tasteless Irish stew, and what happened to the waffle fries? I have never had great service upstairs, but this had us all saying, "What happened to Quinn's?!"

Hubby and I ate here the other night. I had the corned beef and cabbage. It was good, lots of cabbage which I liked. The cream/mustard sauce was ok, but I would have preffered it plain with more veggies. The mashed potatoes were yummy. DH had the Irish Breakfast. His eggs were kind of crispy on the outside, and were way overcooked, although he's asked for them done medium. It was also supposed to come with beans and it didn't. We had the beef crostini appetizer which was good, I just wish their blue cheese dressing had more of the cheese flavor, it seemed pretty bland. All in all pretty mediocre. The service at our table was pretty bad, we were never asked if we wanted water, our server didn't come by hardly at all. We actually got our appetizer before we even got a chance to order our entrees. We were here for drinks once, and got the fish cakes and those were great. We were hoping dinner would be more of the same, but it just wasn't the case. That being said their drink specials are good, and the atmosphere is fun. The bartenders have been nice when we've been, so we might just stick to having beers here.

One of the best Irish bars in Colorado. Have had many different experiences and all of them were good. The bartender introduced me to Smithwicks one time I was there which was pretty good and I've eaten both upstairs and downstairs as well. Great beer, great food, and great atmosphere. I've seen soccer on the tv once here but they changed the channel after not too long to NFL. I guess if you dont ask for it they wont be playing it.

I really enjoy everything about this place . The bar, restaurant, staff, and atmosphere. I'm a regular order-er of the pub chips and dip with bacon and cheese; and past- occasional visitor after the running club for a few beers. It is a easy "go to" place when you just want to hang out.

No complaints. But nothing over the top. I keep coming back. If you're looking for a legit Irish pub, this is your place. Food: I've had their fish and chips, a few apps, and the bangers and mash. All of it was good. My husband loves the pretzels and sausage app. My mom had the corned beef and cabbage but said mine was better -- it's my Irish grandfather's recipe. Drinks: Always a good beer selection. Service: There's some older woman at the front who is kind of not so friendly. Everyone else has been really nice. Atmosphere: No complaints at all. Super fun and Irishy.

Just a few quick words I love this place. I've heard some complains, but never had any to make myself. Love the food love the staff and really love the beer. Where else in the springs can you get a proper pint?

Pros: great Irish pub food. Great selection of draft beers. Staff are generally very friendly. Host the weekly 5k, so that is appreciated. Bathrooms are decent. Lots of TVs, may not have what sport you want to watch, but lots of TVs. Cons: can get incredibly crowded and not enough staff. Cost is high, but reasonable for the quality of the place. Parking is a bitch as it's downtown and on the busiest street. I'll always keep going back to this place. One of the best in town.

Best Irish restaurant/bar I have visited in quite some time! I ate here on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great, with just the right amount of people and not packed. We were seated at a quaint little table that was secluded by stained glass around it. Super cool if you fancy privacy or have some unruly kids. We were told live music would start at 8pm, but it was more like 9-9:10 before they started playing. When they did finally play, it was quality music and was cohesive with the style and mood of the place. We were served by Colleen who was just outstanding. I actually arrived a little late and apologized but she made me feel as though it was not a problem at all and was super friendly despite the circumstances. She checked on us just the right amount, and ensured our beer glasses were never empty. I ordered the bangers and mash and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and fresh the food was. If you're looking for a great place for a family dinner, or just looking for a venue to throw back some beers with the guys (or gals), this place is exactly what you want. Highly recommended.

Last night in town and wanted to try something that I was sure I would like. This seemed the place. If you want fun, don't come in at 5:30 like I did. Pretty calm and quiet but definitely a pub feel. Immediately sat at the bar and went with the only beer worth it at an Irish joint: Guiness. Damn fine. Followed up with a 16yr Bushmills. New drink but comfortable feel. I like this place. I saw my perennial favorite, the Irish Breakfast. Something about the eggs, pudding, bangers, rashers, I can't help it. Was out of this world, hands down the best I have ever had outside of Great Britain. Could even rival it. The best fried soda bread I have ever had. I chose well, was so full. I chose the Harp lager as my follow on, always a good choice. Always a fan of a good Irish whiskey, but my Scottish roots were a calling. I upgraded to a Macallan 18yr, and I tell ya, damn. Smooth flavor with that soft Scottish bite at the end. I was warm, slightly sweating and feeling outstanding!! I am glad I saved the best for last, this place is great. Good atmosphere, great food and stellar drinks. Highly recommend!!

Had another great meal at Jack Quinn's. The "Big Irish" was just superb. Attentive, personable server. The bar has mastered "The Perfect Pour". The live music featured was more bluegrass than Irish trad last night but good. Cheers guys.

This place defines authenticity and quality. The interior is warm and cozy reminiscent of Ireland. The food left me feeling invigorated and content. My most favorite place in the entire city. I like to think that my Irish roots have given me an appreciation for any potato-based cuisine; it has become a sort of comfort food to me. And the menu at Jack Quinn's always has me leaving a very happy customer. I am particularly fond of the Irish nachos and Shepherd's pie. I am also drawn to the ambience and the wonderful mix of community seating and private booths, and the live music is always a plus when it's available.

Downtown Colorado Springs is full of old 19th-century buildings that have been repurposed for modern uses and Jack Quinn's is one of them. High ceilings with the original copper plate, some signs in Gaelic and decorative items all over the walls set the scene. Word on the street is that the private booths were imported from Ireland. There is a small stage past the bar area where musicians perform traditional Irish music on Sunday nights, Irish rock on Saturdays and the night I was there a folk singer with a guitar began performing at 7:30. Oh, and drinks are provided by Guinness Girls, whose qualifications seem to be long dark hair, even longer legs and really short skirts. OK-- now where was I? Oh yes, the food ... you just HAVE to try the Irish Nachos. House potato crisps and chunks of roasted potato topped with corned beef and cheese. Awesome! You might like the Celtic Ruben, but I decided on the small (2-piece) fish & chips. The fish pieces are pretty big, so two was enough for me. These came with a small side of coleslaw, tartar sauce and Mary Rose sauce -- sort of like Thousand Island without the pickle relish. It's definitely a unique establishment, very popular with the locals, and the prices are pretty reasonable. It's well worth the visit. But downtown parking can be a problem. Your best bet is the parking garage around the corner; they are only $1.00 after 4 p.m.

Really great family friendly pub! We will keep it on our list of places to eat when visiting the Springs. They have a unique beer cocktail list where they combine certain beers... like a black and tan is made from Guinness and a lighter beer. We ate there back in April so I can't remember our specific meals but we all loved our choices. Oh! I remember the beer cheese soup was sooooo delicious. Great atmosphere and very accommodating to our party of 10 with 4 kids.

"Oh come all without, come all within You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn" That pretty much sums up my experiences here. This was our final stop on our impromptu brewery/pub tour of the Springs area. After seeing the significant (and unwelcome) menu changes at a nearby establishment, we decided to walk a couple blocks and eat here instead. I am very glad that we did. This place has that authentic, dark, old-world, pub feel to it. It does NOT feel like someone ordered pub tchotchkes from a catalog and decorated their new space in a strip mall. I started with a pint of Easy Street Wheat, and it was oh so refreshing. For my meal, I ordered "The Big Irish" (Irish Breakfast). I am not a huge fan of "breakfast for dinner", but this was outstanding. This hearty plate comes with two eggs cooked to order, bangers, rashers, black and white pudding, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, roasted and fried red potatoes, and toasted Irish soda bread with whipped honey butter. The only thing missing, from my POV, was sauteed mushrooms. The eggs were tasty, the bangers were excellent and perfectly cooked. My rashers of back bacon were tender and flavorful. The meaty puddings were good, and I quite liked the beans. The Irish soda bread had been nicely toasted and went well with the sweet butter. I finished the meal with a pint of Belhaven Scottish Ale. Sadly, I left way more ounces unfinished in the glass than I would have liked, but I was rather full. Service was good, the beer was nice, the atmosphere was authentic, and the food was amazing.

I came here with a group for my friend's 21st. Our waitress Aileen was great. We had a large group and everything was handled in a very timely manner. I ordered the Guiness beef boxy and it was average. My date ordered the corned beef boxy and it was a little cold. The place has a really great ambience and handles groups very well.

I really enjoy eating at restaurants my friends recommend. There's always a story, a reason. In their case, Jack Quinn led to them meeting and eventually marrying. Our group went here after a long day of workshops and this restaurant means comfort food to them. We had an initial seating problem due to a leaking ceiling, but we solved that quickly. Food is standard irish pub fare and they do it well. I enjoyed my sandwich as other enjoyed cheese soup and more. It's cool place also offering live music.

My 4th or 5th time here in as many months. Food was okay, not the absolute best. As usual, I ordered the Reuben with o rings. It was NOT it's usual awesome. Seemed like a new guy slammed it together. In fact, that's how I'd describe the whole experience today. Bloody Marys were THE most boring in the downtown area. One stale olive... May or may not have had any vodka. Waitress was working hard but none of the normal friendly service, which sucked since we brought friends that have well-paying jobs. It was "wham bam here's your check." Not gonna hurry back.

This place has everything you would want in an Irish pub. Great selection of beer and whiskey; beautiful, rich wood paneling and plenty of space both upstairs and downstairs. They offer bar standards like karaoke, trivia and live music. There is enough space to dance a little if you want. The food is really good (for bar food). It is very UK-influenced (I won't say the "E" word though that comes to mind--don't want to start another war) meaning shepherd's pie, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage and bangers and mash. Colorado Springs is a big military town and they have a friendly banner recognizing this in the pub. Next time I visit Colorado Springs I will want to make this a regular stop.

One of my favorite places to go! A real Irish pub feel, and they even have live music on the weekends. A little pricey, and parking can be a pain in the butt, but definitely worth it!

If I lived up here in Springs I would be a regular so easily. Any place that makes a proper half & half gets a very good mark. (Seems every place her in colorado wants to make it with Guinness and something else) They even have proper both that are enclosed and so you can talk without everyone within 4 tables hearing. Had the bangers and mash. Traditional I know, but how else to judge a pub? The carmalized onions on top were a wonderful touch. Also the mustard was great. They had great live music and so made the night. If I lived closer I would even join the trivia night.

It had been over a year since I was there and I was very pleased. The Irish food seems original to me (although I have no basis for that). They offer good drink specials and an unbelievable whiskey special (1/2 price) on Wednesday nights. That's worth the trip right there.

One of my favorite spots in The Springs, if you're a fan of ice cold perfectly poured pints of the Irish Gold (Guinness), then this is the spot for you. They usually have folk/Irish/Rock bands on the weekends and the vibe is always friendly with semi-private booths if that's your thing. The food is always strong, get the deep fried pickles they go perfectly with many a pint.

Excellent place to grab a drink and get your grub on! We came here Friday night from the recommendation of a local and it was a great place to chill and have some killer bar food. We were sat in one of their little private booths right behind the hostess stand and all it needed was a little door to complete the enclosement. While we didn't get to see a lot of action going on in the bar, it was nice to have an intimate setting where we could actually hear each other. We just missed happy hour but they had a Sam Adams special going on for $3 so we enjoyed a cold one while perusing the menu. Problem #1-Everything on the menu sounded delicious. While trying to decide on what to get we ordered their sausage and soft pretzel kebob appetizer and the problem #2 showed up-it was amazing. The combo of salty and sweet with their really, really spicy mustard dipping sauce (I love all things spicy and a little dab had my mouth on fire!) was amazing and I wanted more after that. Instead I ordered their Monghan Club which is like a turkey club with bacon and cheese. They have a good sandwich selection and I was surprised to see a few salmon dishes on their menu as well, something I wouldn't really envision at an Irish joint. The sandwich came out and it was very tasty with a garlic aioli spread on it with fresh potato wedges. I told myself I would save some for later but of course that didn't happen and once again joined the clean plate club. Service was great as well, our server was attentive without being overbearing. I will definitely stop by here again whenever I'm in Colorado Springs!

HOLY AWESOME! We found this place after a good hike at Garden of the Gods using a happy hour finder - and what a great happy hour we found (and at 3pm)! They have a delicious chocolate porter that I just had to have two of, and we had house chips as an appetizer. PHENOMENAL. They serve them with two different dipping sauces, one being a curry-type dip that I basically wanted to pour into my pocket and take home with me. That wasn't even the best part... I ordered the reuben, one of my pickiest choices (it's hard to make a good reuben, i've found) and it was, hands down, the best reuben sandwich of my life. The corned beef was so tender and thick and the sauerkraut was amazing. My friend, a veggie, got the cottage pie and snarfed it down before I could blink. Absolutely delicious selections. Our waiter was very friendly and was kind enough to bring out some water for our thirsty pups (they have a nice little patio that they allow dogs on). I will definitely come back, the only gripe I have is that there isn't one of these in Denver!!

Fantastic! Jack Quinn's is a phenomenal pub and local staple here in the Springs. If your a native you know about it and if your visiting you've got to try it. Sure it's a pub, but the food is not pub quality, it's phenomenal. I've tried over half the menu and have never had a bad meal. A couple of my favorites are the pulled turkey sandwich, the salmon, the pub nachos, the chicken boxty and the cheese plate. Their all time best appetizer however is the spinach artichoke dip, it's amazing. They are quick so you can call ahead and grab something in about 10 minutes on your lunch break and the staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. JQ's sort of reminds me of cheers or having lived in Germany it reminds me of pub I would have gone to in Europe... comfortable, warm atmosphere, reliable and always a day maker to go there. I promise if you give Jacks a chance they will not fail you!

Absolutely amazing! We were in town visiting from Texas and looking for a fun night in the downtown area. So glad I stumbled across this place. First - make sure to check in so you get the 15% off. To start we got the bratwurst and pretzel kabobs, very tasty. You get three kabobs - perfect for sharing. I ordered the fish and chips and the 90 shilling beer and both were amazing. Love that they give you free samples and are knowledgeable of the beer selection. To finish it off we ordered a brownie sundae. Hands down - this was the best brownie sundae I have ever had in my life. DO NOT SKIP THE BROWNIE SUNDAE!!! Loved the atmosphere and live music. The hostesses and wait staff were all friendly and very attentive. Wish we lived here - we'd be frequent customers for sure!

Eh. Pretty much any night I've been there, it's completely packed with people. The food and drink is okay, but I'm just not a fan of the unreasonable amount of folks they cram in whenever they can. The running club based out of here is pretty cool, though. If you are a fan of the crazy/cool party atmosphere, this is the place for you. It is not the place for me.

Went here on a cold snowy day and it was prefect food for the weather. They also offered a free pint to military members on veterans day so that was am awesome bonus. The food was good and the atmosphere was great. I recommend the Irish nachos. The corned beef on the freshly made potato chips with cheese and chives and loads of other stuff was amazing.

Best Irish food besides going to Ireland I live for Irish food and Irish beer. If I have company coming in I will always take them there.

Went for Sunday brunch and was very pleased with the experience. The bar is full-service, so we got in right away even though there was a wait for tables. Bartender was fantastic. Was straight-forward and honest when answering our questions about food. Bloody Mary was way better than I expected (and they don't mess around when you ask for it spicy). French toast breakfast didn't come with enough food to justify the cost. 2 small slices of toast with a side of a whipped cream, a sliced strawberry, and a couple banana slices. That said, the french toast was delicious!! Just don't count on it to fill you up. Probably won't order it again, but may consider adding a slice as a side to something more filling. Potatoes were amazing. Plenty of garlic. My boyfriend got the full Irish breakfast and devoured it. He was stuffed and seemed to enjoy the taste of everything. Bartender said the fish and chips are excellent, so I'll be trying those next. Nice atmosphere with a fireplace and firemen's helmets lining the top shelf along the bar.

Of course, like all American Irish pubs, this place is horribly overpriced. This seems to be a terrible phenomenon everywhere but Ireland/England. The decor is great. I love the little booths. The place has a legit pub feel to it and it even smells like a real British pub! The food is delicious, too. Parking is a pain in the ass and I don't like that children are allowed there so late but it's a good once in a while experience.

When I was at the academy, Jack Quinn's was my "go to" place to relax and enjoy good food and beverages. Friendly staff, prompt service even on a busy Saturday evening. Each time I go thoroug CoS, I make sure I stop in. There is a reason the place is always busy, so do not go in and expect plenty of room!

Atmosphere is perfect for what you would expect from an Irish Pub. The live music is a nice touch as well. Beer selection is decent (would be nice for a larger selection) but they make up for it with a large whiskey selection. Now to the food... We had the Irish nachos and the Fish and Chips with an added side if Soda Bread. The nachos were solid! Good portion and the corned beef on top made it perfect! Fish and Chips were definitely satisfying, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't had better. Overall, fun, interesting place with satisfying food, good beer, and great service. I'll be back very soon!

The Ruben sandwich, sausage with braised cabbage, and the dinner salad were delicious. The service was good and the place was clean. The atmosphere was enjoyable with low lighting and viewable TVs. I would recommend this restaurant to others!

This place often has upbeat live music and is a well-loved local hangout, however I don't believe it lives up to the hype. If you come for dinner, you will most assuredly be yelling across your booth to a person who still will not be able to hear you. I had to find my server, repeatedly and when the food came it was good, but not great.

Although I love the food at Jack Quinn's, I had a terrible experience last night. I called ahead with a reservation for nine. We had to wait at least 30 minutes before being lead upstairs to our table which we were told was already set up. Arriving upstairs, there were folks already seated at our table and food arriving for them. Now figure that one out!?? Sounds like quite a delay after our table was set up and then trying to get us seated. Back down the stairs; then we waited another 15 minutes before we were told we would have to wait another hour for a table. All this with a four and two- year-old. Granted they told us we would get free appetizers when seated. There was definitely a problem in management with this establishment last night. I know they were busy, and they did apologize, but I was not happy with this. My son called Nosh down the street, got reservations immediately, and we had one of the best meals ever. So all's well that ends well. But, this experience with Jack Quinn's was unacceptable and unfortunately has tarnished my opinion of that restaurant. I just moved here to the Springs area. Sorry I had this bad experience because I was Looking forward to eating at Jack Quinn frequently. I've been here several times before while visiting my son and his family.

The fish and chips here are perfect, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. I can't wait to visit again the next time I'm in town. Try the Guinness mussels. Trust me.

Love the atmosphere. Love it when they have live Irish music. It's a great place for a beer. The fish & chips are great. But the rest of the food is pretty bad. The shepherd's pie isn't shepherd's pie. It's cottage pie (shepherd's pie has lamb, cottage pie has beef). And it is really bland. I have tried several things on the menu and the only thing that's any good is the fish & chips. So order that, and a good beer, but don't waste your time eating anything else.

A nice authentic Irish bar and restaurant. A lot of beers on tap and the food is all good. We ordered the pub duo appetizer which gave a nice variety. The spinach dip is excellent as well as the Guinness sausages. I also ordered the corned beef and cabbage. It was quite good. I feel if you're going traditional this dish shouldn't be too spiced or otherwise standout. Great place. Probably have to head back before I leave town...

This place looked great, the menu seemed surprisingly authentic. We were seated outside on the patio by ourselves, as the place was not too busy on a Wednesday evening, and then forgotten about. We were not even brought water! After 20 min of never seeing a waiter/waitress, hostess or another employee we left. We were pretty bummed out we didn't get to try the food!

Fabulous... the fried dill pickles are to die for! The corned beef & cabbage with mash is deletable! We've tried darn near everything on the menu and still can't get enough! My husband loves the beer they have on tap and we frequent Jack Quinn's as often as possible!

This was a great find. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Service was excellent. Great selection of beers. Soup of the day was a Green Pork Chilli...Amazing! Our dinners were quickly served and delicious. Everything was going so well we ordered dessert too, a warm hot fudge and caramel brownie sundae...wow!

LOVED it! I absolutely loved the atmosphere. We sat in a booth for dinner. It looked like most people were just there for drinks. I ordered the cottage pie (basically a vegetarian shepherds pie) and hubby had fish and chips. The pieces of fish are small so get the six piece if you're hungry. I ate all of my food, which is very rare so I must have loved it! I tried a shot called Irish Girl Scout Cookie (or something like that?) and it tasted just like a thin mint. A little too sweet for my taste but I liked it. We'll add this to the list of must see places in CO Springs!

Wonderful atmosphere, good food; the traditional Irish dishes side of the menu are reasonably priced. Staff were all attentive & friendly with quick service. This place is like stepping into Ireland without having to leave the country.

    (2)

I really enjoy everything about this place . The bar, restaurant, staff, and atmosphere. I'm a regular order-er of the pub chips and dip with bacon and cheese; and past- occasional visitor after the running club for a few beers. It is a easy "go to" place when you just want to hang out.

I love this place!!! Show up with some friends on a night when they are doing Irish Drinking Songs. It's a Blast!! Toss back a Pint or two or three, pound your fist on the table to the beat and sing along. Too Much Fun!!!! The food is great, I had the Shepherd's Pie, Fantastic. Also a good selection of Irish Beer and Whiskey's. Bring out your inner Irishman, and have some fun!!! See ya there!!!

One of the Best kept secrets in Colorado! If you get a Chance you need to visit Jack Quinn's on a Thursday night, they have some great Irish music, along with an amazing Shepard's pie.

Great hometown bar, and wonderful clam chowder. Good "old time" bar feel. Makes you think you are in Boston or Ireland. All the good drinks are served here.

hit and miss I'm assuming, from what i read from the other reviews.

  • Lexie S.

    (4)

  • Katrina A.

  • Madhur A.

  • James H.

The mussels were absolutely wonderful! They treated us wonderfully and took great care of us. We were there for a birthday, and they were very hospitable. Drinks were wonderful!! :) Server was wonderful!! Everything was just wonderful! I would recommend this place a million times over.

Any pub with a fireplace is awesome. They have live music several days a week. The place is big. Request one of the booths that is partitioned off if you want privacy.

Great food! The Guiness mussels are to die for. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Irish girls scout cookie shots are a must!! We will definitely be coming back.

Great fun.

Its always a blast to head to this Irish pub, it is so authentic. Late night is always fun, but a great place to grab some dinner and a beer as well. I love the private booths, but if you are looking to mingle just sit at the bar. You will for sure meet an interesting crowd!

Cute little place. They had a band playing that sounded great and were a lot of fun. Good service. I'd go back if I'm ever in Colorado Springs again.

Cheers!

Jack Quinn's is great. I enjoy the food and drinks there. I especially enjoy Thursday night's with Brian Clancy and Irish music, he does a great job of getting everyone to sing and have a good time.

Good Ol Irish Pub. Nice crowd and good live music. The food is so so but I haven't really tried everything yet. OK beer and wine selection but a great selection of whiskey and scotch.
